The Arietes |
Physical Traits
Known to stand anywhere from 4'6" = 54" to 5'0" = 60", these wolves easily reach the shoulder of a regular sized human being. Within the Arietes, there are only three known horn types: Ram, Deer, and Antelope. Ram type Arietes are known to have a bigger build than other horn types, while Antelope type are usually smaller and slimmer. Arietes are also know for having a vibrant array of colors and markings. The color of a wolf's horns always correlates to it's eyes, markings, or base coat color.
Lifespan
The lives of these wolves are directly tied from the oak that made them. As long as the Oak continues to thrive and live, so will all the wolves it creates. It is because of this that many wolves often return to the Oak after years of being away since they often outlive the companions they first left with. It is not uncommon for a wolf to have many friends or companions spanning over many generations. Despite their infinite lifespan, an Arietes can parish from sickness, or other ailments. The funeral of an Arietes is sacred, and something that many participate in.
Reproduction
In the Arietes world, there are no sexes, and genders are simply something wolves choose on their own to describe themselves. Many will go years with only referring to themselves as 'they/them', while others stick to more specific pronouns. With there being no sexes, Arietes are unable to reproduce naturally, and so no pups are ever seen. All wolves are produced from the Oak fully matured. It is written that if the Oak favors a pairing of Arietes, that it may produce a wolf with traits from both. This is only a story and has not been known to happen though.
Diet
Arietes are mainly carnivores, but it is not uncommon for wolves to explore options when it comes to eating. Many wolves dabble in other foods, such as sweets and greens. Still, it is necessary for an Arietes to consume meat every now and then to remain healthy.
